Aaaahh yes, nothing is more satisfying than a final push to production. After all the testing is finished, we finally got the site all up and running for the school. Just in time before the first classes are supposed to start. Though with the COVID-19 measures, the school won’t actually start – not in the way it’s supposed to.
We’ve been running around for the past few days trying to figure out how the classes will be delivered now that the local board of education closed all schools. As the Japanese school is renting their school from one of the public schools here, they also can’t use the building, so the classes are moving on-line – in one way or another.
For the past few days, we’ve been talking on what technology we can use to get everything online so classes can continue. Unfortunately, the budget is much smaller (ie. non-existent) than a real school so we have to make do with a variety of “free” solutions.
We’ll be running mock classes and preparing for the next couple of weeks perhaps – still planning to have the first classes on schedule – perhaps as a trial for the teachers that can handle the technology easier. I’m glad this little project will make at least one part a bit simpler and lets us concentrate on deploying the other new technologies… and the training.
